Lights Up!

Supporting those who need it most

About US

Lights Up was founded in 2018 by a private family trust and registered as a Charity in 2019. Originally established to support community theatre and the performing arts, the charity is now entering an exciting new chapter.  Lights Up has been repurposed to focus on tackling homelessness and supporting projects that create practical opportunities, stronger communities, and brighter futures.

We believe that everyone deserves dignity, hope, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives. Through grants, partnerships, and community initiatives, we aim to support organisations and projects that make a meaningful difference to people experiencing homelessness or those at risk of becoming homeless.

Rather than delivering services directly, Lights Up works alongside trusted charities, community organisations, and local experts who understand the needs of the people they serve. By combining local knowledge with responsible grant making, we can ensure that charitable funds reach projects where they can have the greatest impact.

The Giant Winter Walk

Our flagship fundraising event for 2026 is the Giant Winter Walk.

This community challenge brings together walkers, volunteers, businesses, and supporters to raise funds for homelessness related causes while promoting physical wellbeing, social connection, and community spirit.

Participants can walk individually, with friends, colleagues, sports clubs, schools, or community groups. Every step taken helps generate support for projects that make a real difference to people facing homelessness and hardship.

Looking Forward

As Lights Up begins this new chapter, we are seeking to build a strong and diverse network of supporters, trustees, volunteers, charities, and community partners who share our vision.

Together, we can help create pathways out of homelessness, support people through difficult times, and strengthen the communities in which we live.

If you would like to apply for a grant, make a donation, volunteer, or explore partnership opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
