Lights Up was founded in 2018 by a private family trust and registered as a Charity in 2019. Our core aim is to improve the diversity and inclusivity of theatre audiences. Everyone should be able to enjoy the proven benefits a night at the theatre. #PlayYourPart

We want to create a circular effect of positivity in the community and inject money into local arts. We are focused on local community shows where our support means more, so we grant tickets to deserving local groups.

Theatre societies benefit from a boost in ticket sales whilst our guests benefit from a VIP night out with the best seats in the house, programmes, snacks and transport if needed.

Although largely self funded, arts supporters, large donors, and audience members can #PlayYourPart in helping us grant community groups tickets to local performances.

We are regionally focused. Separated into 11 different regions in the UK and governed by a national board of trustees and advisors, each region has autonomy over how performances are linked to community groups. We rely on local knowledge to put tickets in the right hands.


Each region needs a small committee to co-ordinate ticket grants, performance sponsorship and regional fund-raising. These roles are taken up by volunteer regional co-ordinators, each led by a regional chair. Apply now to AUDITION
